Description

This is my "SHO" rendition of M16. This was done with my new ASI533MC Pro and I processed this in APP and used the Optolong L-Enhance. Using APP RGB combine I used a mono version to simulate Sulfur II (Red channel) and the normal Hydrogen Alpha and Oxygen III (Green and Blue channels). I'm really happy on how this turned out. Several firsts for this image, first light w the new camera, using the GT71 as a guidescope for the first time, and first use of the ASIAir Pro in a project. IMO all in all, a win!

The Eagle Nebula (catalogued as Messier 16 or M16, and as NGC 6611, and also known as the Star Queen Nebula and The Spire) is a young open cluster of stars in the constellation Serpens, discovered by Jean-Philippe de Cheseaux in 1745–46. The nebula contains several active star-forming gas and dust regions, including the Pillars of Creation made famous by the image from the Hubble Telescope.
